Blaming a clerical error for the initial oversight, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has amended this year’s list of nominees for Best Actor, adding Craig Robinson for his performance in “Hot Tub Time Machine 2.” Academy spokesperson Paul O. Jettick describes Robinson’s reprisal of the role of Nick Webber — a pop star who chooses to violate the laws of space and time to save an old friend from certain harm — as “masterful.” This is the first time the 44-year-old former cast member of “The Office” has been nominated for an Oscar, although the Academy’s failure to nominate him for his supporting role in the 2008 film “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” is still considered one of the largest snubs in the award’s 88-year history.
